Ingredients

  • 500g of beef wors
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 large carrots, cubed
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Preparing the Wors

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Pierce the wors with a fork to prevent them from bursting while grilling. Grill the wors for 10 minutes, turning them occasionally until they are browned all around.

Step 2: Cooking the Stew

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat; add the olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add the sliced onions and cook until softened, stirring frequently.
  3. Add the cubed carrots and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables, and stir well, to make sure that it's not lumpy.
  5. Add the tomato paste, the thyme and paprika. Stir well.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes, and let cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. Pour in the beef stock, salt, and pepper. Stir water properly.
  8. Add the grilled wors to the pot, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Your Wors stew is now ready to serve.

Serving Suggestions

You can serve the Wors Stew with some samp and beans, rice or pap. It can also be served with some delicious fresh bread. Enjoy!
