Welcome to my blog where I share my favorite recipes with you all. Today, I will be sharing my recipe for crispy fried hake with flour. Hake is a great fish that is low in fat and high in protein, making it a healthy and delicious option for any meal.
Ingredients:
- 4 Hake fillets
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp of paprika
- 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup of milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Step 1: Preparation
Pat the hake fillets dry with a paper towel and season them with salt and black pepper on both sides. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Step 2: Dipping the Fish
In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs and milk together to create an egg wash. Dip the hake fillets in the egg wash and then coat them in the flour mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly.
Step 3: Frying the Fish
Heat a large skillet or frying pan with about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, gently place the hake fillets in the pan and fry them for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Step 4: Serving
Once the fish is cooked, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to remove any excess oil. Serve immediately with a wedge of lemon or tartar sauce on the side, if desired.
Tips:
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying the fish to ensure that it comes out crispy and not soggy.
- Do not overcrowd the pan, as this will reduce the temperature of the oil and cause the fish to absorb more oil.
- Use a slotted spatula to remove the fish from the pan to avoid breaking the crispy coating.
With this simple recipe, you can enjoy a delicious and healthy meal in no time. Try it out and let me know what you think!
