Welcome to my blog, where I share some amazing cooking tips and tricks for you to try out in your own kitchen. Today, we’ll be discussing how to fry wors in a pan!
What is Wors?
For those who are not familiar, wors is a type of South African sausage made with beef or sometimes pork. It has an amazing flavour and is very versatile, and is often served at BBQs or braais in South Africa.
Ingredients
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to fry wors in a pan:
- Wors sausages (beef or pork)
- Olive oil or any other cooking oil of your choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Follow these simple instructions to fry wors in a pan:
- Heat up a little bit of oil in a pan – just enough to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Place the wors sausages in the pan and cook them over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes.
- Use a fork or tongs to turn the wors over after 5-6 minutes, so that it can cook evenly on both sides.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Continue to cook until the wors is crispy and golden brown on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
- Remove the wors from the pan and place it onto a serving dish.
- Serve with pap or any other side dish of your choice.
Additional Tips
If you want to add extra flavour to your wors, you can try some of these tips:
Marinade
Marinate your wors overnight in your favourite marinade before cooking it. This will give it extra flavour and make it more tender.
Beer
If you’re feeling adventurous, try adding a little bit of beer to the pan when you’re cooking the wors – the beer will infuse the wors with its flavours.
Braai
If you’re lucky enough to have access to a braai, cook your wors over an open flame. It will give it a smoky flavour and enhance its taste even more.
Frying wors in a pan is a quick and easy meal that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out!
