Welcome to my blog! Today, I am going to share with you a unique way of making steam bread. Instead of using the traditional metal steamer, we will be using a plastic container. Not only is this method economical, but it is also convenient for those who do not have access to a steamer. Let's get started!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1 cup lukewarm water
Instructions
Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp of active dry yeast, 1 tsp of salt and 1 tbsp of white sugar. Mix the ingredients together thoroughly.
Step 2: Add the Water
Slowly add 1 cup of lukewarm water to the mixture. Mix the ingredients until they are fully combined.
Step 3: Knead the dough
Flour a flat surface and turn the dough onto it. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
Step 4: Shape the dough
Form the dough into a ball and place it into a greased plastic container. The container should be at least 1 inch deep.
Step 5: Steam the bread
Fill a large pot with about 1 inch of water and place it onto the stovetop. Carefully place the plastic container into the pot. Cover the pot with a lid and turn the heat to high. Allow the bread to steam for 30-40 minutes.
Step 6: Check the bread
After 30-40 minutes, remove the lid from the pot and carefully remove the plastic container from the pot. Use a toothpick to check if the bread is fully cooked. If the toothpick comes out clean, then the bread is ready. If not, place the bread back into the pot and steam for a few more minutes.
Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
Carefully remove the bread from the plastic container and place it onto a wire rack to cool. Slice and serve the steamed bread with your favorite spread or sauce. Enjoy!
Conclusion
Who knew that making steam bread in a plastic container could be so easy and convenient? This money-saving method is perfect for those who are on a budget or do not have access to a traditional steamer. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out!
